The MacDowell Male Chorus is generously offering its performance on April 14 as a fundraising event for the Winneconne Community Arts Center.  Join us for a lovely evening filled with superb music while supporting the WCAC!

The Appleton MacDowell Male Chorus is a fellowship of dedicated amateurs who enjoy singing and whose primary purpose is the professional performance of male chorus music.  In addition, the chorus strives to encourage the support of worthy musical projects and concerts.

Founded in 1934, the Appleton MacDowell Male Chorus is one of the longest continuously running male choruses in the United States. The inspiration behind its name was the noted American composer, Edward MacDowell (1860-1908). The chorus has performed more than 750 times in more than 50 cities throughout the Midwest and Canada. The men have over 1,000 works covering a wide range of musical styles in their repertoire, of which 25-30 are selected to perform each spring from memory. One weekend a month from October through April they give the church choirs a break and donate their talents to a variety of congregations throughout the Fox Valley. The MacDowell Male Chorus averages between 80-100 members at a time; membership is open to all post-high school males who enjoy singing.
